George C. Dudley
George C. Dudley
George Dudley of Caroledge Farm, Litchfield, Connecticut.
George was a very well-known dairy farmer, Brown Swiss breeder and exhibitor. From 1935 to 1955, he had the largest Brown Swiss herd in Connecticut, milking about 65. George had multiple Grand Champions at The Big E and other shows. He also won several Premier Breeder and Exhibitor Awards.
George's herd was especially known for breeding deep pedigreed cow families. Many of the cattle that he marketed over the years became foundation animals for a number of other Brown Swiss herds.
George served in many capacities, holding multiple offices in Connecticut and New England Brown Swiss Associations. He was a past President of the New England Association and served 2 terms as District 1 Director of the National Association. He was on the 1980 National Convention Planning Committee and Eastern Breeders Sale Committee for many years.
