Along with his parents, Ralph and Rosa Prime, and later with his wife, Linda, and their children owned and operated Roseledge Farm in Augusta, ME. Longtime exhibitors at The Big E, they accomplished many Junior Championships, Grand Championships and Premier Breeder and Exhibitor Awards. Mallory Brook Lynn was a 3-time Grand Champion Brown Swiss at The Big E in the early-to-mid 1970's, and later became one of the period's great brood cows.
In addition to being a very successful Brown Swiss Breeder and Exhibitor, Curtis served as former President of New England Brown Swiss Association. He was New England Chairman for the 1980 National Brown Swiss Convention in Springfield and National Sale at Mallary Arena.
For many years he and his family were in charge of the livestock show at Windsor Fair in Maine. Curtis was also well known by other dairy exhibitors at Local, Regional and National Shows and was Sale Chairman for Eastern Breeders Sale in Cobleskill, NY, and Northeast Kingdom Brown Swiss Invitational Sale in Barton, VT. In later years, Curtis was heavily involved with breeding and exhibiting goats at fairs in Maine, and assisting and encouraging other exhibitors and especially Youth with exhibiting dairy goats and Brown Swiss. Curtis and Linda's children and grandchildren are still involved in dairy farming and exhibiting high caliber Brown Swiss and Holsteins in Maine.
