Your All-Access Pass to Farm Life at The Big E

Daily · 10am–10pm

The Mallary Agricultural Complex is your gateway to all things farm and field at The Big E. Learn from local farmers and agriculturists, watch cows being milked in the Milking Parlor, get the scoop on dairy nutrition from the animated Singing Refrigerator (sponsored by the New England Dairy Promotion Board) and see skilled livestock showmanship in action with cattle, sheep and more.

This bustling ag hub is also home to sheep shearing demos, livestock competitions, the 4-H Milk Booth, the ever-popular Swifty Swine Racing Pigs, the iconic Butter Sculpture, blue-ribbon Christmas trees and the Eastern States Farmers Market.

The Mallary is the place to connect with the roots of New England agriculture.

Butter Sculpture

Butter Sculpture

On Display Daily • Sponsored by the Massachusetts Dairy Promotion Board
Each year, hundreds of pounds of butter are plastered on wire frames to create a sculpture made entirely from butter. In fact, over 600 pounds of butter, donated by Agrimark/Cabot Creamery, are used for the creations. This work all takes place in a specially designed cooler located under the Mallary Rotunda during The Big E.
