coped with the Civil War 





Sit in on a recruitment meeting seeking soldiers for the cause


Speak with a blacksmith about job opportunities and the increase in manufacturing during the war


Local women will tell of their

efforts to support the troops through sewing and making clothes


Experience one family's preparations for the wake of one of their kin who died while

in service to his country


Listen to a conversation between

a shopkeeper and customer

regarding the separation of the southern states, the lack of cotton textiles, and how suppliers and consumers from both the

North and South are being affected

Storrowton Village kicks off the summer season with guided tours of the recreated village and Early American craft demonstrations - FREE admission 









June 17- August 22, Tuesday thru Saturday, 11 am - 3 pm
Guided tours by costumed interpreters of the 18th & 19th century village including the farmhouse,
law office, schoolhouse, blacksmith shop and country store. Admission $5.00.
































Storrowton Village Museum is an authentic, recreated village of nine 18th and 19th century buildings from Massachusetts and New Hampshire, assembled around a traditional town green

to acquaint audiences of all ages to

New England life in bygone days


Storrowton Village is open for drop-in tours

Tuesday - Saturday from 11am to 3pm,

mid-June thru the end of August; all other

times of the year is by appointment only

year-round by appointment,

with hands-on activities available






Our 1834 Meetinghouse is available

as a classic backdrop for your special day -

or, if you prefer an outside location,

the charming Gazebo on the Green...

Herb Garden Tour

Storrowton's Master Gardeners share

the history and folklore of herbs in

Aunt Helen's Herb Garden,

as well as the various stages of the garden's evolution since it was

created in 1935


Demonstrations will be offered, using herbs in a variety of applications

Summer Days

9:30am - 3:30pm





This week-long program takes boys and girls, ages 7-12, on an exciting journey into New England's bygone days where they will experience challenging and fun hands-on activites, and a variety of 19th century games and craft projects


Some activities include fireplace cooking, blacksmithing, butter and cheese making, basket weaving, herbal lore, hoop and sack races
