T-Shirt Design Competition

2013 Fiber Festival T-Shirt Competition

• “Design the Fiber Festival of New England T-shirt” competition is open to any and all participants.
• The Fiber Festival of New England T-Shirt campaign reserves the right to verify all eligibility requirements.
• All submissions must include the Year (2013) and the following wording: The Fiber Festival of New England. All artwork should be fiber (eg. wool) or fiber animal (eg. Sheep) related.

 

 

PRIZES
Winner will receive $250 and a family four pack of tickets to The Big E (Sept. 13-29, 2013) and a free T-Shirt.

 

REGISTRATION
• Complete and submit the online Registration Form.
• Contestants must supply all details required by the Registration Form, and comply with all rules to be eligible to participate in the competition.

 

DEADLINE
• All entries must be received by FRIDAY August 23, 11:59 p.m. EST. Any entries received after this time may not be considered. The Fiber Festival of New England does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.

SUBMISSION
• Entries must be submitted electronically in an acceptable format that can be viewed on a PC (i.e. pdf, jpg, tif, etc).
• Submissions are to be sent to aginfo@thebige.com along with Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code and Contact phone number.
• An individual can submit only one design for the competition.
• Any design violating any of the rules of the competition will not be posted.
• The Fiber Festival of New England reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify and delete any entry it deems to be offensive, inappropriate, derogatory and libelous, or not in keeping with the Fiber Festival of New England image or that is otherwise not in compliance with the terms of these Official Contest Rules.


THE FINE PRINT - Official Contest Rules
Each design must be the original work of the contestant, and they must be the sole owner of the copyright of said entry - no copyrighted designs, photographs or images may be used. If a design is found to contain copyrighted or non-original material, it will be immediately disqualified and deleted from the competition site.

• Design must not infringe on any third party rights. Contestants agree to indemnify and hold The Fiber Festival of New England, Eastern States Exposition and New England Sheep & Wool Growers Assn, its personnel and agents, harmless from any third party claims for loss, damage, prejudice, liability or expense suffered as a result of or in any manner in connection with their design entry, any other of their acts or omissions or any information which they provided.
• No responsibility is accepted for ineligible, disqualified or entries made fraudulently.
• Design must not have been produced for compensation, previously submitted for any other competition, used or posted previously on any Web page.
• By submitting their design to The Fiber Festival of New England T-Shirt Competition, contestants agree to grant The Fiber Festival of New England, Eastern States Exposition and New England Sheep & Wool Growers Assn, free of charge, the right to use their design in any manner and media, without limitation including the right to publish, adapt, distribute, copy, display or translate.
• The potential winner agrees to have their work shown in public, and to make themselves available for interviews, photographs with their work, and public appearances.
• Each winner grants to The Fiber Festival of New England T-Shirt Competition and its designees an irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide perpetual license to use and distribute the entry (as submitted, modified or as cropped by The Fiber Festival of New England committee), and name, city and state for credit purposes, on The Fiber Festival of New England’s website and any and all media now or hereafter known, for purposes of promotion of the competition and other The Fiber Festival of New England T-Shirt Competition contests and/or for purposes of advertising and promoting The Fiber Festival of New England and, except as otherwise stated herein, without further compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.
• Participation in the Competition, including being selected to receive a prize, in no manner constitutes an endorsement or support by The Fiber Festival of New England T-shirt Competition of contestants’ views or aims or of any of their products or services. Contestants shall not advertise or otherwise claim to have obtained any such endorsement or support from The Fiber Festival of New England T-shirt Competition.

 

JUDGING
• After the competition closes on August 23, The Fiber Festival of New England Committee will select a winner.
• Designs will be judged based on their creativity, overall impact, and originality of message content, as well as the quality of design and overall presentation of the T-shirt.
• The Decisions of The Fiber Festival of New England Committee and the competition judges are final and binding in every situation, including any not covered above, and neither the judges nor The Fiber Festival of New England Committee will respond to correspondence justifying its decision.
• Any attempt by a contestant to influence the result or subvert the competition will lead to immediate disqualification.
• The Fiber Festival of New England Committee reserves the right to not select a winner or winners if entries received are judged to be of insufficient quality.
• If a winning entrant/s is/are unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, The Fiber Festival of New England Committee reserves the right to offer the prize to the contestant with the next best entry.

 

WINNER NOTIFICATION
• Potential winners will be notified by e-mail and /or telephone around August 14, 2013.

 

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
• The personal information of participants collected in connection with the contest will be used only in the execution and promotion of The Fiber Festival of New England.

 

MISCELLANEOUS
• The Fiber Festival of New England reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition or any of the arrangements, schedules, plans or other items directly or indirectly related to the competition, at any time and for any reason if deemed necessary.
• The Fiber Festival of New England is not responsible for late, lost, garbled, damaged, incomplete, delayed, undelivered, or misdirected entries or photographs, or for computer, technical, printing, typographical, human or other errors relating to or in connection with the competition, including, without limitation, inability to access any website associated with the competition, errors which may occur in the administration of the competition, the processing or judging of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any competition-related materials.
• By participating in the competition, each entrant fully and unconditionally agrees (i) to be bound by the terms of these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of The Fiber Festival of New England and judges, which are final and binding in all respects, and (ii) to indemnify, defend and hold The Fiber Festival of New England, Sponsor and their respective partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, prize suppliers and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective directors, officers, employees and agents of the foregoing (collectively, the “Released Parties”), harmless against any and all claims and liability arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of or in connection with participation in the competition, acceptance and use of any prize or Released Parties’ use of any of the rights granted herein.

 

SUBMISSION RELEASE FORM
1. I certify that this submission, including text and illustrations, and any additional material were made by me and were not copied from another work, photograph, illustration or website, or made by another.
2. I understand that if any text, work, photograph, illustration or other materials obtained from the work of others is included in my submission, it is my responsibility to obtain the appropriate permissions for use of such work as a part of my submission.
3. I understand that the submission, including text and illustrations, and any ancillary material will not be returned.
4. I give permission to The Fiber Festival of New England, Eastern States Exposition and New England Sheep & Wool Growers Assn. to use, reproduce, prepare derivative works, publish, sell and distribute copies of design to the public, present and display publicly the submission, including text and illustrations, and any ancillary material, and the submitter’s name and photo for all purposes deemed appropriate by The Fiber Festival of New England.
5. I understand that by submitting an entry, I grant The Fiber Festival of New England, Eastern States Exposition and New England Sheep & Wool Growers Assn and its designees an irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide perpetual license to use the entry (as submitted, or as cropped by The Fiber Festival of New England) and my name, city and country of residence for credit purposes in any and all media now or hereafter known or any other use on The Fiber Festival of New England’s website for purposes of promotion of this competition and other The Fiber Festival of New England contests and/or for purposes of advertising and promoting The Fiber Festival of New England and, except as otherwise stated herein, without further compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.
6. I understand that The Fiber Festival of New England may distribute my submission, including text and illustrations, and any ancillary material through a variety of media, including but not limited to print, television, websites, or any other means.
7. I understand that The Fiber Festival of New England may also permit a third party to exercise The Fiber Festival of New England rights, including but not limited to the right to display or distribute the submission, including text and illustrations, and any ancillary material, in a manner The Fiber Festival of New England deems appropriate.
